CGA + Ottawa 2017

“Natural Gas Now, Then, To Come” – For over 150 years, natural gas has met the energy needs of Canadian. In the early 1800, natural gas was used as a lighting source for our street lights. Today, natural gas meets over 30 per cent of the country’s energy needs, offering close to 6.8 million customers, which represents well over 20 million Canadians coast-to-coast-to-coast with affordable, clean, safe and reliable energy to heat and power homes, apartments, buildings, businesses, hospitals and schools. Going forward, natural gas will continue to build on that legacy to make an even smarter energy system.

As a proud partner of Ottawa 2017, the Canadian Gas Association believes Canada’s sesquicentennial is an opportunity to highlight the contributions that our industry and natural gas have made to Canada over the course of our country’s history, and where our industry and natural gas will support Canada and Canadians in the future. CGA’s CANADA 150 campaign is designed to commemorate our industry’s involvement over the course of Canada’s history. Between the end of 2016 and throughout 2017, CGA will tweet 150 tweets on how natural gas has helped build Canada, 150 tweets about the natural gas industry today, and 150 tweets about the future of the natural gas industry and its important role in Canada’s energy future.
