Canada’s natural gas delivery industry supports partnerships with other industry, federal, provincial and municipal governments to connect communities and agricultural regions to affordable, clean, safe and reliable natural gas.
Today, over 20 million Canadians benefit from affordable, clean, safe and reliable natural gas. But the natural gas distribution network hasn’t yet expanded to many smaller communities and agricultural regions leaving them at an economic disadvantage in their effort to attract new industry and maintain lower energy costs.
Natural gas can reduce energy costs for Canadian homes, businesses, and institutions. As well, natural gas emits lower levels of greenhouse gases (GHGs) and air pollution than many other fuel sources including heating oil, propane and (in jurisdictions burning coal for electric power) electricity. Natural gas technology is also highly efficient and an ideal partner for renewables like wind and solar.
