“Picarro’s mission is to enable natural gas operators to enhance the safety of their natural gas infrastructure, increase capital equipment efficiency, and help the environment through effective emissions reduction programs.”

What opportunities and challenges does your company face?

Our customers are constantly challenged to meet varying and evolving regulations, especially regarding decarbonization and other environmental protection efforts. This creates a great opportunity for Picarro because our technology is precise, scalable, and provides data-driven actionable insights that can be leveraged across the organization. Currently, the majority of our customers are in the downstream distribution segment, but upstream and midstream operators are subject to similar pressures and incentives and can also benefit from our technology and solutions.

In your opinion, what will be the role of natural gas in the next 50 years?

The next 50 years will be pivotal for the entire energy industry. Essentially, we are at an inflection point where there is legislative urgency to actualize some transition to environmentally friendly and/or renewable alternatives, but this will take time, as most aren’t ready for widespread use. Picarro’s advanced leak detection and emissions management solutions can help the industry bridge this gap by providing natural gas operators with the technology they need to significantly reduce methane emissions today and more effectively manage their infrastructure.
