Speakers:
Tyson Jerry
Business Development Manager
Low Carbon Transportation & Renewable Gas Supply
FortisBC Energy Inc.
In 2008, Tyson pursued his lifelong passion for low carbon transportation by setting the Guinness World Record for “Longest Journey by Car Using Alternative Fuel.” In partnership with the Sierra Club, the campaign educated high school students across North America about sustainability. The tour hit nearly every state, province, and territory, driving further than anyone without using a gas station, clocking in at 48,535 km. Fifteen years later, that record has yet to be beaten.
For nearly 20 years Tyson has worked in sales, marketing and business development, with a focus on displacing fossil fuels from commercial fleets. Today, Tyson works for FortisBC as their Business Development Manager in Low Carbon Transportation & Renewable Gas Supply.
Tyson continues write (and brag) about his intelligent wife and two vibrant little girls with whom he is privileged to live, work, and play on the unceded ancestral territories of the Coast Salish peoples.
Cody Brookwell
Director, Sales & Business Development, Canada
Clean Energy Fuels
Mr. Brookwell began his career in 2016 with Alberta’s natural gas utility company, ATCO, supporting corporate initiatives around energy efficiency, and low-carbon technologies. Specializing in alternative fuels and commercial transportation, Mr. Brookwell was successful in securing CAD$6.5M of funding from Emissions Reduction Alberta, to help launch the low-carbon fuels market for heavy-duty vehicles in the province. In 2023, Clean Energy announced a $70M joint venture with Canada’s largest natural gas producer, Tourmaline Oil, with a target of building up to 20 compressed natural gas stations across Canada in the next five years. Mr. Brookwell holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Denver, and a master’s degree from the University of Ulster. He currently holds the position of Director, Sales & Business Development, and is responsible for the growth of Clean Energy’s business across Canada.
