La saison de chauffage<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW75693201 BCX0\"> a commenc\u00e9 par une grosse temp\u00eate hivernale qui a frapp\u00e9 la majeure partie du Canada et des \u00c9tats-Unis, entra\u00eenant une demande de gaz naturel record dans <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW75693201 BCX0\">les 48 \u00c9tats am\u00e9ricains qui se trouvent dans la partie centrale de l\u2019Am\u00e9rique du Nord<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW75693201 BCX0\">. En moyenn<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW75693201 BCX0\">e, les temp\u00e9ratures au<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW75693201 BCX0\"> pays sont rest\u00e9es inf\u00e9rieures \u00e0 la normale pendant le reste de l<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW75693201 BCX0\">\u2019<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW75693201 BCX0\">hiver, en particulier par rapport aux deux saisons hivernales pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW75693201 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\" lang=\"FR-CA\" xml:lang=\"FR-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">Les degr\u00e9s-jours de chauffage\u202f<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">(<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">DJC<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">) sont un moyen de mesurer la \u00ab\u202ffroideur\u202f\u00bb d<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">\u2019<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">une saison. Les DJC sont d\u00e9finis comme la diff\u00e9rence entre la temp\u00e9rature quotidienne de l<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">\u2019<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">air ext\u00e9rieur et une temp\u00e9rature de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence de 15<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">\u202f<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">\u00b0C, point \u00e0 partir duquel un apport d<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">\u2019<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">\u00e9nergie est n\u00e9cessaire pour maintenir la temp\u00e9rature de l<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">\u2019<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">air int\u00e9rieur. D<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">\u2019<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">octobre\u202f<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">2024 <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">\u00e0 mars<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">\u202f<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">2025<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">, les besoins en chauffage au Canada \u00e9taient sup\u00e9rieurs de 2<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">\u202f%<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\"> \u00e0 ceux de la saison\u202f<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">2022-2023 et de pr\u00e8s de 10<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">\u202f%<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\"> \u00e0 ceux de la saison\u202f<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW259412187 BCX0\">2023-2024.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW259412187 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-11106 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cga.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Picture1-FR.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1919\" height=\"757\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cga.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Picture1-FR.png 1919w, https:\/\/www.cga.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Picture1-FR-300x118.png 300w, https:\/\/www.cga.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Picture1-FR-1024x404.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.cga.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Picture1-FR-768x303.png 768w, https:\/\/www.cga.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Picture1-FR-1536x606.png 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1919px) 100vw, 1919px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Cet hiver plus froid que d\u2019habitude a entra\u00een\u00e9 une augmentation de la demande d\u2019\u00e9nergie dans les b\u00e2timents cette ann\u00e9e par rapport aux deux ann\u00e9es pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes. Or, aucune source d\u2019\u00e9nergie n\u2019est plus utilis\u00e9e par les m\u00e9nages canadiens que le gaz naturel. Celui-ci repr\u00e9sente 46\u202f% de toute l\u2019\u00e9nergie utilis\u00e9e dans le secteur du b\u00e2timent. Pr\u00e8s de 7,7\u202fmillions de clients du gaz naturel dans tout le pays \u2013 soit pr\u00e8s de 50\u202f% des quelque 15,5\u202fmillions de m\u00e9nages \u2013 utilisent le gaz naturel comme principale source d\u2019\u00e9nergie pour le chauffage domestique. Ce pourcentage est encore plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 dans les provinces de l\u2019Ontario (71\u202f%), de la Saskatchewan (80\u202f%) et de l\u2019Alberta (84\u202f%).<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Entre d\u00e9cembre\u202f2024 et f\u00e9vrier\u202f2025, un total de 14,7\u202fmilliards de m\u00e8tres cubes de gaz naturel a \u00e9t\u00e9 consomm\u00e9 dans les secteurs r\u00e9sidentiel et commercial, ce qui \u00e9quivaut \u00e0 une augmentation de 3\u202f% et de 13\u202f% par rapport aux saisons d\u2019hiver\u202f2022-2023 et\u202f2023-2024 respectivement. En r\u00e8gle g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, le gaz naturel consomm\u00e9 au cours des trois mois d\u2019hiver repr\u00e9sente environ 50\u202f% du gaz naturel consomm\u00e9 dans les secteurs r\u00e9sidentiel et commercial au cours d\u2019une ann\u00e9e civile typique. Ce mod\u00e8le de consommation saisonni\u00e8re souligne l\u2019importance du gaz naturel pendant les mois les plus froids.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">La pointe saisonni\u00e8re observ\u00e9e dans le r\u00e9seau de gaz naturel souligne encore davantage son importance dans le syst\u00e8me \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique du Canada. Pour mettre les choses en perspective, la demande quotidienne de gaz naturel dans les secteurs r\u00e9sidentiel et commercial \u00e9tait de 6,3\u202fmillions de GJ, soit environ 73\u202f000\u202fMW. \u00c0 titre de comparaison, la demande totale d\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 dans les deux m\u00eames secteurs cet hiver n\u2019\u00e9tait que de 33\u202f000\u202fMW. Cette comparaison met en \u00e9vidence l\u2019importante capacit\u00e9 de distribution du r\u00e9seau de gaz naturel et sa capacit\u00e9 sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 la demande, en particulier pendant les p\u00e9riodes de demande pointe ou de mauvais temps.
