Canada Chosen to Host Global LNG Conference in 2023

The Canadian Gas Association (CGA) is pleased to announce Canada has been selected by the International Gas Union (IGU), the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) and GTI, to be the new host of the 20th International Conference and Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG2023).

In a time of very challenging energy geopolitics, global leaders are focused on strengthening energy security, while maintaining their ongoing commitments to the delivery of affordable, reliable, clean energy. LNG can play an important role in providing solutions to all these challenges, while also meeting the growing energy demand of the global community.

Canada is an emerging player in the global LNG marketplace, and is already one of the world’s largest producers, transporters, consumers, and exporters of natural gas. As such Canada is well-suited to host LNG2023.  Vancouver – a hub for LNG in Canada – is an ideal location for the event.

LNG2023 will gather key stakeholders from across the globe to discuss and collaborate on LNG’s role in our collective energy future. Important topics such as global markets, innovation, operations, shipping and marine operations and infrastructure will be examined during this global conference.

“We are thrilled to have been chosen to host LNG2023 in Vancouver, BC. Canada has a strong and committed natural gas industry and there are vast opportunities for Canada, and Canadian LNG, to play an important role in supporting energy needs around the world,” said Timothy M. Egan, President and CEO of the Canadian Gas Association. “We are looking forward to engaging with the global LNG industry and other stakeholders to collaborate and showcase what LNG can do for the world.”

The professional conference and exhibition organiser for LNG2023 will be ETF, who bring over twenty years’ experience to the event, including most recently LNG2019 Shanghai.  Contact Jason Berman at ETF for Call for Abstracts, exhibition and sponsorship enquiries – jberman@etf.com.au

About CGA
The Canadian Gas Association (CGA) is the voice of Canada’s gaseous energy delivery industry, including natural gas, renewable natural gas (RNG) and hydrogen. CGA membership includes energy distribution and transmission companies, equipment manufacturers, and suppliers of goods and services to the industry. CGA’s utility members are Canadian-owned and active in eight provinces and one territory. CGA members meet 38 per cent of Canada’s energy needs through a network of over 573,000 kilometres of underground infrastructure. The versatility and resiliency of this infrastructure allows it to deliver an ever-changing gas supply mix to over 7.3 million customer locations representing approximately two-thirds of Canadians. CGA members ensure Canadians get the affordable, reliable, clean gaseous energy they want and need. CGA is also working to constantly improve that gaseous energy offering, by driving forward innovation through the Natural Gas Innovation Fund (NGIF).
