At a pivotal moment for Canada’s energy future, the Canadian Gas Association (CGA) has named Michele Harradence Chair of its Board of Directors.
Michele’s appointment comes at a time when Canada is focused on strengthening energy security, supporting economic growth and meeting rising energy demand. Harradence leads Enbridge’s gas distribution and storage business, serving approximately 7.1 million customers across North America. She brings more than 25 years of experience across the energy value chain and a track record of advancing safe, reliable and evolving energy systems to meet growing demand.
A longstanding member of the CGA Board and most recently Vice-Chair, Harradence brings continuity and a deep understanding of the association’s priorities as she assumes the role.
“I’m proud to serve as Chair at a pivotal time for Canada’s energy future,” said Harradence. “Demand is growing and our industry is focused on delivering energy that is affordable, reliable, resilient and responsible for Canadians. By continuing to invest in and evolve our infrastructure, we are helping to fuel quality of life, support good jobs in a strong economy and build healthy communities.”
CGA President and CEO Susanna Zagar welcomed Harradence’s appointment as Chair of the Board. “Michele’s tremendous operational experience, strategic leadership and deep knowledge of the industry make her exceptionally well-positioned to step into the role of CGA Chair. Together, we will bring renewed focus to the association and help define the future of energy in Canada.”
Harradence succeeds Roger Dall’Antonia, President and Chief Executive Officer of FortisBC Inc. and FortisBC Energy Inc., who has completed his two-year term as Board Chair. Under Dall’Antonia’s leadership, the association advanced its strategic priorities and continued to champion the role of natural gas infrastructure systems in meeting consumer energy needs alongside an unwavering commitment to public and worker safety.
